Social and Health Centre, Bolzano, 2015

Social and Health Centre

The site faces a large pedestrian square and Claudia Augusta street, an important road that connects the district to the city centre. The new social and health center completes the square and the series of public buildings that defines the center of the district. Flexibility, transparency and recognizability are the key features of the project. The geometrical module of the floor plan is also the generator of the facade design. The homogeneity of the upper level facades is counterposed to the large glass windows of the ground floor. This is characterized by a great transparency and is conceived as a set of big reinforced concrete portals that clearly set and identify the three main services: health, social and pharmacy.
