The building is set up as a simple elongated masonry block, to which is leaned, on the west side, a façade device made of wood, consisting of the superimposition of continuous terraces of different depths

The east façade is studded with 88 windows, mutually sliding between floors: seen from this side, especially in situations of grazing light, the building takes on the appearance of a large, eroded stone block

The project moves within the narrow limits imposed by the “ParcoClima” implementation plan, declining the building’s urban function on an architectural scale.
The “hinge” role of the project complex, as defined in the competition specifications, leads to a differentiated interpretation of the fronts.
The building is set up as a simple elongated masonry block, to which is leaned, on the west side, a façade device made of wood, consisting of the superimposition of continuous terraces of different depths.
The east façade is studded with 88 windows, mutually sliding between floors: seen from this side, especially in situations of grazing light, the building takes on the appearance of a large, eroded stone block.
To the west, the façade is configured as an autonomous structure attached to the building. The load-bearing structure is made of larch wood, consisting of 15×15 cm section pillars and continuous terraces made of joists with upper and lower boards. The façade is clad with continuous matchboarding, also made of wood. All elements are painted coral red.
A modular system of filtering roller blinds provides solar shading in the afternoon hours, making an important contribution to the control of the indoor microclimate.
